Gold Medal Axis Deer Score The Boone and Crockett Club is excited to announce that a new world’s record non-typical axis deer has been taken! The huge buck was harvested on November 26, 2019, by fourteen-year-old Hunter Lee of Uvalde, Texas.
With a final score of 377 6/8 points, the massive deer surpasses the previous record holder by over eleven inches. Hunter’s father, Michael Lee, took his son hunting on the family ranch for what would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After spotting the giant buck and making a difficult stalk, Hunter made a perfect shot at just over 100 yards with his .243 Winchester.
The incredible animal sported 29 scorable points and had an inside spread of nearly 28 inches. It is truly an amazing accomplishment for both hunter and dad! The Lees contacted Joe Franklin of Performance Trophy Outfitters in Uvalde to have the deer officially scored.
Boone and Crockett scorer Dwain Hanna certified the new world’s record non-typical axis deer on December 21st. The giant buck will now go through the process of being accepted as an official entry into the Club’s Records Program.
